Why we now send interview questions in advance

We now send interview questions to all candidates before interviews. This makes the process more inclusive, transparent, and supportive so candidates can be at their best during an interview.

At RiskSTOP Group Ltd, we want the interview process to be a great experience for everyone. By sending out the questions in advance, we ensure all candidates, regardless of background or personal circumstances, have an equal chance to succeed. This has been found to be particularly helpful for neurodivergent candidates.

"We want to level the playing field so everyone can shine," says Natalie Joyce, Group HR and Social Responsibility Associate Director. "By sending out the questions in advance, we hope to reduce the stress and anxiety that comes with interviews and make it a more comfortable and productive experience for everyone involved."

"We want to get the best out of candidates, and we believe that sending out questions in advance is part of achieving that," says Natalie. "It's not just about filling a role; it's about finding the right fit and making sure both the candidate and the company can thrive together".

We’re not the first to do this. Companies like John Lewis and Waitrose do the same, recognising the benefits of a more transparent and supportive interview process. It’s becoming more common as companies realise the value of a more candidate-friendly recruitment process.

“Since we made this change in January, we’ve had lots of great feedback from candidates,” says Natalie Joyce. “They’ve said that they felt comfortable and enjoyed the whole process with us, which is exactly what we hoped for.”
