£17,000 Raised for The Samaritans, Thanks to Community Support

Chesil Rocks has done it again, with RiskSTOP Group’s support! Raising an amazing £17,000 for Samaritans of Dorset. That’s 42.5% of the charity's annual budget, meaning they can focus on what they do best – supporting those in need – and less on fundraising challenges.

Since its first event in 2012, Chesil Rocks has grown into a major community event, raising over £125,000 for Dorset Samaritans.

This year’s festival, which ran over three days from 20th – 22nd June, kicked off with a lively Comedy Night, followed by an elegant Prelude of Classical Music and Opera, and culminated in a day filled with diverse performances, including local bands, sea shanties, and even a fire-eating finale. The festival not only entertained but also provided a crucial platform to raise awareness of the Samaritans’ mission and increase access to mental health services in Dorset.

RiskSTOP Group were once again the main sponsor of the event. Tim and Hilary Warren, the Chesil Rocks organisers, said: “Without RiskSTOP’s extremely generous financial support, plus the volunteering support offered by members of their team in the build-up and throughout the event, Chesil Rocks could not have taken place in the way that it did or been the success that it was.”

Natalie Joyce, Associate Director of HR and Social Responsibility at RiskSTOP Group, said, “The team and I had a great time at Chesil Rocks, and it was so rewarding to be part of such a worthwhile event. Well done, everyone at RiskSTOP, and thanks to Tim and Hilary for making it all happen.”

The money raised will make a big difference in the lives of those who rely on the Samaritans’ services, and it is a testament to Tim and Hilary's dedication and passion that Chesil Rocks continues to thrive year after year.
